The bachelor’s thesis deals with the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which has been getting more attention lately, especially because of its application in mobile phones and bank cards. The work describes and evaluates this technology, emphasises its advantages and focuses on possible ways of use. Presented are the origins, history, norms, standards and individual components. In detail are specified the types of communication and the communication protocol and furthermore also the security and possible types of attacks. The thesis also describes progression of the NFC technology that we encountered in the Czech Republic, including individual projects in contactless payment and other possible applications of the technology. One of the topics of the work is also comparison of the Czech Republic with other countries in the world, from the point of view of advancement and expansion of the technology. Introduction of NFC into practice is also dealt with in the thesis, with description of the ways how to expand current systems to use this technology and of all the related tasks. The last part of the work mentions a further anticipated evolution of the NFC technology, possible applications in new fields, increase in the number of users and support from the producers and also questions regarding the safety and technological maturation of NFC.
