The diploma thesis deals with design and solution of a contactless electronic security system, which by utilization of the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology allows entrance of authorized people to locations locked for public. The thesis contains description of the RFID technology, which is the basic component of this type of authentication and security systems. The safety components, communication protocols, norms, standards are described as well as some examples of practical applications of this technology. The diploma’s project deals with control unit which is responsible for evaluating of communication of connected components and control their operations within the whole system. Description of the control unit includes possibilities of connecting other devices, specifications of individual buses, various types of development environments and the programming language. This thesis also contains description of parameters, functions and component libraries that were used in the electronic security system. The practical section presents connection of all components, individual functions of the whole system, data storing, input codes from authorized users, control unit programming and work with tags. The conclusion contains evaluation of the project from practical point of view together with list of costs. There are also mentioned some possible extensions that could improve the system by allowing wider range of practical implementations.
