The bachelor thesis discusses the potential of the radio frequency identification technology in the automotive industry. The first part describes the RFID technology its history and the components required for its implementation. The second part is focused on EPC standards and their application in practice. The following part describes solutions where this technology already exists and its specific examples. Conclusion of the thesis is focused on analysis of the appropriate tags for the automotive industry. The experiments at the end of the thesis confirm feasibility and transfer of acquired knowledge into the environment of automotive industry.
